Jesus As Advocate (1 John 2:1-6)

Jan 18, 2026    Doug Crawford

In this exploration of 1 John 2:1–6, we see Jesus Christ the righteous as our advocate before the Father, whose intercession came at the cost of His own life. The sermon explains Christ’s dual role as both advocate and propitiation, where God’s holiness and love meet at the cross to fully deal with sin. Believers are called to pursue obedience while resting in the assurance of complete forgiveness when they fail. When guilt presses in, the call is not to look inward or outward, but upward—to the finished work of Christ.
