God is Love (1 John 4:7-21)

What does it mean to say that God is love? Reflecting on 1 John 4:7–21, we see that love is not defined by culture or personal feelings but flows from God’s very nature. God demonstrated His love by sending His Son as the propitiation for our sins, paying a debt we could never repay. If we truly know Him, that same sacrificial love will be evident in our lives, making the invisible God visible to a watching world.
