The Plot to Kill Jesus (John 11:45-57)

In John 11:45-57, we're confronted with the stark contrast between belief and unbelief in the face of Jesus' miracles. The raising of Lazarus serves as a pivotal moment, pushing some to faith while hardening others in their opposition. We're challenged to examine our own hearts: do we, like the religious leaders, fear losing our status and comfort more than we fear losing our souls? This passage reminds us that even in the darkest plots against God's plan, His sovereign will prevails. Just as Joseph's brothers meant evil but God used it for good, we see how the religious leaders' scheme to kill Jesus ultimately fulfills God's plan for salvation. This teaches us to trust in God's bigger picture, even when circumstances seem dire. The text also emphasizes that neutrality about Jesus is impossible - His signs demand a response. Where do we stand? Are we believers, or do we find ourselves resisting His call? This message urges us to consider our own response to Christ and the transformative power of true faith.
